"You guys have got to learn, to respect the bluefish"

My Perspective
As a full time fishing guide of many years on the coast of NC, I have said it many times "Thank God for Bluefish!" I'm definitely not alone in this train of thought, most fishing guides/charter captains and even many weekend fisherman in my area lean on the availability and cooperative nature of bluefish during times other fish will not participate or simply aren't available.
What they lack by being less attractive table fare, they make up for with their aggressive attitudes and willingness to bite.
Bluefish have great value to the charter fishing community, commercial fishing industry and recreational fisherman but, most importantly they are one of many fish that keep our oceans, sounds and rivers running smoothly from an ecological standpoint. So catch them, keep them, eat them, release them, sell them, use them for bait whatever you want inside the confines of legal regulations but, don't ever take them for granted and live by the motto...
